DAI Post Guide
Established in 2000 in Melbourne, Australia, DAI Post is an Australian-owned company that has been focused on getting parcels delivered safely for over 20 years. They specialize in ecommerce, wholesale international inbound parcel delivery in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
This guide includes detailed information on utilizing DAI Post shipping with the EasyPost API, focusing on account setup, rates, label creation, manifests, tracking, and more.
Sign up for an EasyPost account to obtain a Test and Production API key. See Authentication and Key Management for more information.
Note: Negotiated rates are only available in Production mode.
Upon sign-up with EasyPost, users gain immediate access to Wallet Carrier Accounts, which can be enabled directly from the Dashboard. For additional carriers, EasyPost supports a Bring Your Own Account (BYOA) option. This requires users to register directly with the respective carrier.
Tracking Authentication Requirement: DAI Post now requires an API key issued directly by DAI Post for tracking requests. This requirement applies only to tracking functionality. Rate retrieval and label generation continue to operate using existing credentials and do not require a DAI Post API key.
- Contact DAI Post to request a shipper account. A representative will be in touch for additional details regarding the account.
- Inform DAI Post about using EasyPost’s API for label purchases.
- Acquire rates and align any additional shipping needs.
- Obtain the following production credentials:
- 3-letter account code for customers with multiple accounts
- DAI Post default origin terminal
- DAI Post client secret
- DAI Post customer username
- Tracking API Key Requirement: For tracking services, DAI Post requires customers to use a DAI Post-issued API key.
- Input carrier-specific credentials within the EasyPost Carrier Account Dashboard for comprehensive rate access.
The API structure specified by EasyPost can also be used to add the DAI Post carrier shipper account.

When integrating a DAI Post account with EasyPost, users should be aware of how rates are managed and displayed. Here’s a breakdown of key points:
- EasyPost initially returns a $0.01 rate for shipments once the DAI Post account is set up.
- DAI Post will charge the appropriate amount for postage via their billing system.
- DAI Post representatives provide rate cards detailing expected costs based on shipment parameters (package size, weight, location, etc.).
- Acquiring this custom rate card from DAI Post is crucial, as EasyPost is not automatically privy to these rates.
Once the rate card is received from DAI Post, users should contact EasyPost support at support@easypost.com for assistance installing the rate card into their account.
Billing for DAI Post shipments is handled directly between the shipper and DAI Post. EasyPost is not part of the billing chain for this carrier integration.
