USA Export - Powered by Asendia is an aggregate carrier. This means the shipping workflow involves multiple carrier services combined into one, with USPS handling the first mile and Asendia USA handling the international export leg.
Billing is managed entirely through the EasyPost Wallet:
- Both USPS and Asendia USA charges are applied at the time of label purchase.
- These may appear as two separate price adjustments–one for each carrier segment.
- All rates are pre-negotiated and billed through EasyPost. No direct billing occurs with USPS or Asendia USA.
This process allows EasyPost to provide a streamlined international shipping solution using multiple underlying carriers, while consolidating charges into a single EasyPost-managed transaction.
USA Export - Powered by Asendia offers the following service levels:
- USA Export Standard
- USA Export Plus
- USA Export Select
All USPS predefined packages are accepted if a weight is provided.
Label generation for USA Export - Powered by Asendia differs slightly from standard carrier workflows. A USPS label is generated for each shipment. This label is addressed to the Asendia hub. The Asendia hub will re-label the shipment to its final international destination.
- Customs Items: The
customs_items
object must include a code string (e.g., SKU or UPC). - EasyPost Platform Users: EndShipper addresses must be included in all shipments due to USPS first-mile handling. An EndShipper refers to the final shipper on whose behalf a platform is purchasing postage. Refer to the EasyPost EndShipper documentation for more details.
