# Sonic Guide

Sonic is dedicated to providing its shippers with the most consistent and quality shipping
service. They are an express shipping expert within Florida and have served the state
for 30+ years. Get reliable next- and same-day shipping today with Sonic and EasyPost.

This guide includes detailed information on utilizing Sonic shipping with the EasyPost
API, focusing on account setup, rates, label creation, manifests, tracking, and more.

## Prerequisites

### Account Registration

Sign up for an EasyPost account to obtain a **Test** and **Production** API
key. See Authentication and Key Management for more information.

> Note: Negotiated rates are only available in Production mode.

### Carrier Setup

Upon sign-up with EasyPost, users gain immediate access to
Wallet Carrier Accounts, which can be
enabled directly from the dashboard. For additional carriers, EasyPost supports a Bring Your Own Account (BYOA)
option. This requires users to register directly with the respective carrier.

#### Sonic Shipper Account Registration

1. Complete registration on the Sonic website.
   Once registered, a representative will be in touch for additional details regarding the account.
2. Inform Sonic about using EasyPost's API for label purchases.
3. Acquire rates and align any additional shipping needs.
4. Obtain Sonic production and test account credentials:
   1. Sonic Username
   2. Sonic Password
   3. Sonic Account Number
5. Input carrier-specific credentials within the
   EasyPost Carrier Account Dashboard for comprehensive rate access.

#### Sonic Account via API

The API structure specified by EasyPost can also be used to add Sonic carrier shipper account.

## Rates

Sonic handles billing directly using a bill-on delivery system. EasyPost does not participate in the billing process for Sonic services.

## Service Levels

Sonic delivers 6 days per week (Monday - Saturday). The service levels through EasyPost include:

There are no predefined packages for Sonic.

## Generating Shipping Labels

With EasyPost, generating shipping labels for Sonic is the same process as generating them for any other carrier.

#### Voiding Labels

Voiding Sonic labels through EasyPost is supported.

#### Label Formats

EasyPost offers native Sonic labels in PNG, ZPL, and PNG formats.

### Manifests

Manifesting is not supported or required for Sonic.

### Returns

Returns are not supported for the EasyPost Sonic integration.

## Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT)

This guide does not specify handling hazardous materials with Sonic. Shippers are advised
to contact Sonic directly for specific guidelines
and compliance requirements.

## Pickups

Returns are not supported for the EasyPost Sonic integration.
regular pickups can be arranged directly with Sonic during the account registration
process, they cannot be scheduled via the EasyPost API.

## Tracking

EasyPost simplifies package tracking by offering two methods:

- Tracking with an existing number and carrier.
- Using a Tracker included with an EasyPost-purchased shipping label.
